Sons and Lovers

Sons and Lovers is a 1913 novel by the English writer D. H. Lawrence. It is often regarded as Lawrence's finest achievement. The book highlights the almost morbid attachment that a mother, unloved by her husband, feels towards her favorite son. The emotional relationship that keeps him tied to his mother will become more and more for the young man a physical and psychological chain, conditioning him to the point of completely ruining his existence.
