SHORT BIO : Massimo Aiello was born in Naples in 1966. He has always, or nearly always, been involved with music. He is primarily self-taught in music research and he started studying music at the age of 10. He studied with various seasoned drum teachers in Italy and, in particular, with Maestro Enrico Lucchini (he was also a teacher together with Kenny Clarke and Dante Agostini in their famous Paris drum school in the 70s), one of the most appreciated music teachers in the world and a revolutionary figure of the drum's pedagogy in Italy. He has been an independent music teacher since 1986. As a performing artist, Aiello played with more than 100 Italian and international bands and recorded many albums. In 2001, he recorded his first solo project, the album "Tribute to Beethoven - Drum in the Symphony No. 9", also for sale on the web, with Azzurra Music(www.azzurramusic.it), a project that has been appreciated all around the world with the support of international music magazines, such as the number one drum magazine "Modern Drummer", and world-renowned educational institutions, such as PAS-Percussive Arts Society. In 2006, Aiello published "The Complete Drums’ Method", an extensive didactic book that included innovative musical concepts elaborated by him after long years of research and experimentation, very appreciated also abroad.
